Spritely wood nymph
with sparkling eyes
darting from tree to tree
Stops to breathe in
the life of the forest
And revels in
the scent of spring
then resumes her journey
looking for Puck
in all the wrong places
as he alludes her in jest.
II
The sun slips down behind the cloak of night
She lays by a warm flowing spring
and watches the water nymphs
dance the ritual of nature
upon the bubbling water
Sighs a deep sigh of serenity
and floats into sleep
III
So her days go, until death
when she posthumously looks back
and smiles.
